What does mean Co-Creation?

Nothing stay the same, and in the last years new ways of making business emerged, where the relationship with the customer is the focus of all the companies. This new way to think bring to live the idea of co-creation. But what really means co-creation?

This new concept is about relationship and trust, and how companies involve their customers in their innovation process.

The Co-creation concept can be apply to different escenarios, and from the company view, it can be define as a collaborative exercise where brands and customers work together to reach different purposes like communications strategies, design of new products, create brand experience, etc.

In the co-creation process, the ideas of the people are fed back by the brand. This exercise generates mutual collaboration between the two parties to achieve a profitable and final result  for both parts.

When we decide to use the co-creation as part of our strategy, the first thing that we need to do is to to stablished our prime objective. This objective could be give a solution to a problem, create a new product, design a new store, etc, because the purpose of this co-creation is to bring up a tangible idea, that can be carried out  and benefits the brand and the consumers.

Now-a-day, a lot of companies are using this strategy to involve the customer and generate trust and relationship, because “the customer is the company” (Chafkin 2008). Brands like Volvo, Heineken and Nivea, started using the co-creation to define their goals (align with the customers goals) and to create customer experience.

My first dosis of Social media

When I was a kid, a long time ago, I remember to use my computer for just two thing: to play or to do my assignments. No internet connection and MS-DOS system. Imagine to have to write codes every time you want to get access to any program!

But since that time, until now the computer is not anymore the big box with limitation. Now you can do everything with your PC, and the most important thing is that you can get access to the WORLD WIDE WEB (www.), which means INTERNET, GLOBALIZATION, CONNECTION and a lot of new things to come.

The same happened with Marketing – Advertising, is not anymore about using the traditional channels for the mass. Now with internet you can interact with consumer thought the SOCIAL MEDIA. And that’s why I decide to start my blog in order to share my learning and mistakes using SOCIAL MEDIA.

Fashion Blogger

Chiara.jpegThe most appropriate person that can show us how profitable fashion blogging can be is Chiara Ferrangi, the most well paid fashion blogger in the world. This woman transformed her name into a brand that generates an income of 12 millions USD yearly.  But how does this kind of business work?

Being a fashion blogger is not as easy as we may think. The “bloggers” work with a profesional team which include make up artists, stylists, photographers and community managers, just to nominate a few. They need this support team, because as I mentioned before, a “blogger” is a brand, and as one, they have to take care of their internal and external image: they need to attract “fans” and also other brands that want them for their campaigns.

The engine of this profitable business is social media, particularly Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. These platforms give the visibility that these “bloggers” need to get fans; and severals brands realised that through them they can influence the consumers’ behaviour and also will be closer to their customers.

The “bloggers”, or more accurately described in these days as “influencers”, need to generate traffic and they have to engage followers though

social media if they want to succeed, because if they do not accumulate the required numbers, they will not be able to catch the attention of any brand and it will not be profitable.

What do you think will be the characteristic that this “blogger- influencer” will need to develop in order to succeed in this fashion business? Would you change your current life in order to be one?
